which do you prefer? ive used both and until the fcs3 avid wouldve been top(although i still love fc) but now apple has finally done it! and for the price theres just nothing that avid could offer.
also the biggest misconception is that avid is pc base only and thats 100% false! you can run avid on your mac aslong as it meets the requirements, he11 ive seen a mac mini using avid before.
i think it now more so depends on what your use to working with and exactly what you are wanting to edit.there are still somethings that the super rich avid system can do that the utterly inexpensive fcs3 cant, but once you add on partner programs fcs3 is right back in the game.

Honestly I've never used Avid. But I do know that it runs on macs as well. So macs are king when it comes to running media software once again. Supposedly Avid is the software they use most in the professional industry, however FCP is slowly taking over. It hasn't yet, but FCP used to only be around 5% of the time, and now it has grown to 10% or more. Give or take on those numbers...I can't remember the actual ones.
